Unisex.
Nº 01 · Flagship
Cryptomeria japonica
The scent of a sun-warmed cedar bathhouse: sweet, spiced, faintly incense-smoked. Sugi wood is built into temples that have stood for a thousand years; the fragrance is what their shade smells like in summer.
Top
Yuzu · shiso · pink pepper
Heart
Sugi CO₂ · hinoki · frankincense
Base
Sandalwood · cypress leaf · white amber

Nº 02 · Limited
Tamarindus indica
Four to five hundred years old, six metres around, standing at the edge of the Indian Ocean. The scent of the spice routes that made this island: sour-sweet tamarind pulp, sea salt, and the warm dark of old stone.
Top
Tamarind · sea air · cardamom
Heart
Clove · dried fruit · island woods
Base
Amber · vetiver · driftwood

Nº 03· Limited
Pistacia atlantica
The mastic tree of the Maghreb, tapped for its resin since antiquity. The fragrance is the smell of that resin warming in dry heat — balsamic, slightly bitter, ancient — the same note that has travelled the caravan routes for two thousand years.
Top
Bergamot · sage · dry earth
Heart
Mastic resin · cistus · leather
Base
Oakmoss · amber · labdanum

Nº 04 · Entry
Sequoia sempervirens
The tallest organisms alive grow in a narrow belt of coastal fog. Their scent is not primarily the wood — mild, low in resin — but the whole ecology: damp duff, mycorrhizal soil, fern, and the salt-kissed fog itself.
Top
Bergamot · pink pepper · coastal ozone
Heart
Redwood heart oil · fir balsam · damp moss
Base
Ambroxan · oakmoss ·Haitian vetiver

Nº 05 · Entry
Sorbus aucuparia
The rowan that grows high on the Blue Mountains escarpment — a tree of edges, wind, and thin soil. The scent is sharp green and cool, the way the air tastes at altitude before the sun clears the ridge.
Top
Green leaf · juniper · cool air
Heart
Rowan berry · fern · moss
Base
White musk · granite mineral · cedar

Nº 06· Flagship
Acer saccharum
The tree that turns a Canadian winter into sweetness. Sap rises before the leaves; the scent is that early thaw — woodsmoke from the sugar shack, clean snow, and the first warmth of the year.
Top
Maple sap · snow air · birch
Heart
Balsam fir · warm wood · vanilla
Base
Tonka · sandalwood · soft amber

Based in Toronto, Canada, the Barked Project circles the globe researching the world's ancient, monumental trees. We preserve their memory with high-resolution photographs for future generations. This map shows our tree expeditions to late 2026.
The trees and their environments are the secret to our scent formulations. Each fragrance is built from the unique bio-region of a specific ancient tree — the fog off the California coast for the redwood, the sun-warmed cedar bathhouse for the sugi, the spice routes that pass the tamarind.
Be. Real. Embrace the natural. Save ancient trees.
